The Scientist 1 will execute the development, standardization, validation of analytical methods employed by PCR Labs. The scientist 1 will ensure the ongoing performance of instrumentation, materials, and methods. The Scientist 1 will contribute towards the successful completion of departmental and company initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure legitimacy and defensibility of data in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of methods and materials including instrumentation.
Authoring and executing procedures and reports associated with validations, experiments, and test methods.
Plan, execute, and report experiments performed in support of method development and validation, research and development, materials validation, process improvement, and troubleshooting.
Preventive and routine maintenance of instrumentation.
Support laboratory technicians in professional development and solving laboratory related problems.
Maintain up to date knowledge of the cannabis industry with a focus on science and technology.
Collaborate internally and with clients, regulators, and other partners to further the progress of cannabis science.
Ongoing assessment and optimization of laboratory throughput and process control.
Apply technical expertise and advice to Quality department in support of investigations and corrective actions.
Qualification Must Have:
Experience with LCUV, LCMSMS, ICPMS, HSGC FID, GCMS instrumentation and methodologies
Experience designing and executing method development and validation experiments
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in a technical discipline e.g. chemistry, biology, etc.
Knowledge of analytical chemistry, regulatory requirements such as ISO 17025, local, state, and federal regulations.
Proficient in communication, solving problems, and representing the company.
Experience in performing in a fast-paced, high throughput, regulated cannabis testing laboratory or similar laboratory.
The Scientist 1 will work primarily on-site at the laboratory but also may be required to travel for conferences and meetings.
The The Scientist I will be required to work in a laboratory condition for most of the workday. Occasional night and weekend work may be required. Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions; may be required to use personal protective equipment.
