Lab Technician

Job description
The Lab Technician will be responsible for all of the steps involved in sample analysis for testing of cannabis products.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Be proficient and perform batching, sample and QC preparation, solvent and other reagent preparation, instrument loading and general instrument cleaning and maintenance for at least 1 analytical team
Perform daily calibration verification checks for all equipment
Perform sample analysis and data review utilizing validated analytical methods.
Demonstrate ability to multitask and prioritize projects efficiently.
Maintain a safe, clean, well-organized, and efficient laboratory work environment.
Remain up-to-date on all SOPs and maintain documentation required for compliance.
Assist in maintaining the laboratory for ISO/NELAC accreditation standards and future audits.
Organization and supply stocking of work areas
Ensure adequate inventory of laboratory supplies is on hand and available
Work on projects assigned by lab management and work in collaboration with other technicians.

Required Skills & Experience

Must be at least 21 years of age.
Bachelor’s Degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college or university is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in a regulated or high throughput laboratory environment is required.
Exceptional wet laboratory technique and ability to perform documentation for ISO/NELAC standards.
Candidate must have some familiarity with the following instrumentation: LC-UV, LC-MS/MS, GC-FID, ICP-MS, and PCR. Candidates with LC-MS/MS will be given preference.
Some knowledge of microbiology and sterile technique is beneficial.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
